A LITTLE ABOUT ME:

I was born and raised in central California and I left home after high school to join the U.S. Air Force. In the military I was afforded the opportunity to live several years in the Philippines and to travel throughout Asia and the U.S.  Over the years I completed college and grad school, however  that was just the beginning of a happy lifetime of learning that continues today.

Although I am an editor, a novelist, and a poet,  I am the most interested  in the visual arts, with a
fascination  for and delight in all things tactile and textural.  My passion is for encaustic, but  I also  enjoy working  with watercolor, fused glass, clay,  fibers and and beads.  I've exhibited in juried, solo
and group shows, and am fortunate to  have much of my work held in private collections.

My greatest inspiration comes from God and the nature He has created all around us, so I am never without  ideas, whatever the medium.
Whether I’m writing, painting a picture, or creating a sculpture, I strive for  the end result to be something meaningful that causes the
reader or viewer to engage, feel something, or be moved in some way; I want them to smile, laugh, gasp, feel inspired, feel nostalgic, or
simply be transported to another place for a moment in time.

I am equally inspired to teach others about the creative process and how delightful it can be.   Art is for everyone!

I exhibit and teach throughout the Washington DC, VA and MD metro area, and anywhere else I am invited!
